Ass. Data Engineer
The Institutional Securities Technology Division is looking for a strong data engineer to join a global data federation team working on exciting and challenging projects.
We design and implement a data federation platform that is used across Front office, Booking, Finance and Risk to access data from their multiple big data containers (or data lakes) and show them as single unified virtual data for reporting, data analytics and user interfaces.
Through the platform, users can retrieve data from Hadoop, Teradata, DB2, Greenplum, Sybase and Java objects via ANSI SQL and REST interface. It supports a large number of user groups in trading application, business and regulatory reporting, operations, and finance, accessing trade data from various business lines such as Equities, FID, FX.
The candidate will work with various IT departments, Operations, and BU to onboard users to the platform. Candidate should have good financial data knowledge, solid relational database knowledge, strong interest and experience with large, highly accessed databases and Data Warehouses/Data Marts.
Major responsibilities include:
-Work with data users to gather requirement, design and create query solutions, and onboard them to the platform;
-Analyze and optimize query performances;
-Member of the core team to contribute platform buildout.
-5-6 years of experiences working with large databases;
– Python development
-Good communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic changing environment;
-Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, stored procedure, and query tuning;
